The perfect bolt hole for couples wanting to getaway and enjoy the South Cotswolds, this handcrafted shepherds hut with simple though stylish interior offers a warm welcome to all that come and stay.

Enjoying a great location within the borders of a former estate home for Tortworth, the village though spread out offers a bustling farm shop with cafe, an arboretum planted in the 19th Century with close to 300 rare and champion trees and stunning countryside of which you are free to roam. Also well placed with a variety of attractions to include Berkeley Deer Park, Slimbridge Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust and Painswick Rococo Garden. Spoilt for choice for keen shoppers with Bristol Cabot’s Circus, Bath and Cheltenham all within easy reach. Across the river you can the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley an area steeped in history and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Step onto your private terrace and enjoy the views across the open countryside before stepping into the shepherd’s hut where you will find a living area with lounge/kitchen/dining/sleeping area, get cosy in the lounge with the built in seats with tartan cushions, great for watching a movie or simply enjoying the view. The kitchen area has a electric oven and gas hob, fridge, kettle and toaster, well placed within wooden work tops. And for dining a pull down table for two. In the evening snuggle up in the comfy double bed that you pull down and look out at the stars. You will also find a shower room with shower and WC.

Heading outside you will find a private raised deck with countryside vista and seating along with a courtyard area with seating to the side of the shepherds hut. There is off-road parking for one car.

Myself, my partner and especially our dog had a fantastic stay! The owners made us feel very welcome and gave us great advice about the local area. Some fabulous walks right on the door step! Our dog enjoyed playing with the owners friendly dogs. Wonderful stay and would highly recommend!

An amazing holiday away. Hosts were very gracious and accommodating to us. Beautiful location with plenty to be done in the surrounding area. Very friendly dogs! Our own dog made some new friends and had an excellent time as well. Thank you guys for a great weekend away!

Great spot to explore from with Chepstow only 30mins away. Countryside great for walking the dog. Owners really friendly as are their 2 dogs. Our beagle made good friends with Corky, who came to see if he wanted to play! Really nice touches of a home baked cake awaiting our arrival. Although on site the owners were in no way intrusive but happy to Read morehelp with any local info if required. We would definitely visit again. Hide

The Sheperds hut is an adventure and a delight to stay in. Cosy, clean and very comfortable. Our dog loved it too. The door opens to overlook fields and trees and the sheep come right up. Wonderful location to visit everywhere and come home to. Top notch.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. The accommodation was very warm and cozy, perfect for a couple with a dog! The owners had two lovely dogs who played quite happily with ours. The location was fantastic with lots of walks, pubs and stunning scenery. The Shepherds Hut was the perfect place for my Christmas break. With the Cotswolds right on the doorstep, it was so easy to get out and explore everything! James and Jean were the perfect hosts and very friendly. They made me feel a part of the family and were fantastic in recommending places to visit. They have made a simple hut so beautiful!
