Found about 3 miles away from the pleasant Roman town of Cirencester, this tasteful property is quietly nestled in a courtyard setting. It lies in a secluded village in the Duntisbourne Valley, which is perhaps one of the prettiest valleys in the Cotswolds with its Saxon-age village church. There are wonderful views over the unspoilt countryside and enjoyable long or short walks including a section of the Macmillan Way. Central for Cheltenham for the horse racing, Gloucester for its heritage, Oxford for its academia and history, Stratford-upon-Avon for its beauty and associations with the playwright William Shakespeare, and the quaint Cotswold towns of Burford and Stow-on-the-Wold. The region has good access to London and the north via train and motorway transport links. Slightly further afield are the vibrant cities of Bristol and Bath.

Relax in the lounge with its cosy wood burner (first basket of logs included), where you can snuggle up on the sofa and watch your favourite shows on the Smart TV. There is a dining area in a wide corner with a table with room for four. If you decide to stay in and cook a meal there is a well-equipped kitchen with an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Upstairs, is a bedroom with a king-size bed and a further bedroom containing twin beds. There is also a bathroom with a large shower and WC. Stepping outside and overlooking the stream is the enclosed courtyard garden with a BBQ. You are free to make use of a separate lawn area located 20 yards from the property for picnics and games. This was a beautiful, relaxing rural retreat with some lovely walks and easy access to Cirencester and a host of nearby opportunities. Access to the paddocks and woods belonging to the owners was an absolute joy giving fox and deer watching time as well as immense enjoyment. We, and our border collie had a fabulous time!

We had a lovely time in River Cottage. The cottage is in the countryside but only a 10-minute drive from town, so the location is perfect. There are lovely walks to enjoy right on the doorstep. The house is very well-equipped and really pleasant. In short, we recommend it without reservation.

We loved staying in this cosy cottage. We had an extremely relaxing week, had log fires every evening, and ate huge quantities of ice cream from the local Waitrose. We loved the peace and quiet of the paddock and the local footpaths. Our hosts were lovely too. I hope to return again.

A cosy and comfortable cottage in a wonderfully quiet location. The access to the owner's fields for walking our dog was brilliant and there were easy alternative walks from the door on public footpaths. The cottage is comfortable and has everything you need for the week. It is conveniently located near to Cirencester but feels completely rural. Lovely cottage in a private courtyard. Very comfortable and equipped with everything we needed. Little things like milk in the fridge when we arrived. Very comfortable and cozy. Lovely small private garden and ample of surrounding fields, perfect for our Shih tzu. The cottage had everything we needed if we wanted to cook, do some washing, even bowlRead mores, towels and a bag of treats for our dog! Only drawback is that there is not a local shop nearby although there are Supermarkets a short drive away Hide
