This 300-year-old Grade II-listed cottage is in the rural hamlet of Cambridge, which takes its name from the River Cam that flows through it. Slimbridge Wetland Centre (2.5 miles) is a beautiful nature reserve that is great for a walk and learning about wildlife conservation. The cottage provides an ideal base to explore the Cotswolds AONB, with access to great walks and traditional market towns. Stroud (8 miles) is well worth a day trip to visit its independent boutiques and cafes. Every Saturday is the Stroud Farmers Market, which is well known as one of the biggest, busiest and most popular in the UK. Also worth a visit is Tetbury (13 miles), the second largest town in the Cotswolds which is home to King Charles III at Highgrove House. Visit the gardens of Highgrove House or spend the day exploring the picturesque town with its many boutiques and eateries.

After a busy day exploring the Cotswolds, head back to your traditional rural retreat to relax and enjoy quality time with friends and family. Step straight into the charming lounge which is brimming with character with its exposed beams, traditional doors, and an inglenook fireplace with a cosy wood burner, perfect for relaxing with a good book or enjoying a film together on the Smart TV. Off the lounge is a separate dining room to enjoy a lovely meal together after making use of the fantastic local produce you can pick up all over the Cotswolds. The fully equipped kitchen brilliantly mixes the old with the new, with its traditional feel yet all the modern conveniences you would expect for a self-catering stay away. Head upstairs where the traditional cottage feel continues, there are two lovely bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other a twin room making this house a great choice for families or friends visiting this beautiful part of the country. The bathroom has an adjacent WC just a few steps away.

The main outdoor space for this property is to the front of the cottage with a large garden laid to lawn with garden furniture and a charcoal BBQ. This is a great space to relax and dine alfresco in the warmer months. There is also a small courtyard garden to the rear of the property which gives you side access to the property through the kitchen.

Another lovely stay in Slimbridge, had a lovely weekend and the cottage is so cosy and clean. Well situated for local amenities and lovely play park up in the village. We went to Dursley this time and enjoyed looking around the shops and bought some lovely cheese from the little farmers market there. Highly recommend The Cottage for a cosy stay

The cottage is such a lovely place to stay, the kind of place you walk into and feel at home in a short time. It has the best equipped kitchen of any place we have stayed and the house felt clean, well cared for and loved. It's a lovely area with a play park a couple of minutes drive away. It was a short break for us so we did not explore too far aRead morefield but enjoyed looking around Stroud with its quirky shops. Had a lovely Chinese takeaway from The Golden Wall in Dursley, highly recommend. Hide

We had a lovely week at The Cottage, just a shame about the weather. Comfortable beds and lovely hot shower. We visited Berkeley Castle, The Ship Graveyard, and Slimbridge Wetlands, all really interesting. We ate out twice at the Fromebridge Mill which was very good and reasonably priced. On one exceptionally wet and windy day we spent the day in tRead morehe cottage doing the 1000 piece jigsaw, which we were chuffed to eventually complete. Hide

The cottage is a lovely, cosy home from home. It's well located for sightseeing. It is one where tall people have to stoop a lot! It's in a row of original cottages but has had new houses built around it. You don't see them when you're inside but it's not a totally rural location.

Lovely old characterful country cottage in an excellent situation for touring Gloucester and the Wye Valley. Very homely, comfortable, clean and well equipped accommodation in a quiet backwater in the village of Cambridge near Slimbridge. Pretty garden and off road parking space.

We had a wonderful stay in The Cottage. It really felt like a home from home. It had everything you could possibly want in a house. Especially the dining area and garden were our favourite spots. With the A38 close by it was easy to get around. The George Inn has nice pub food with a relaxing atmosphere.

We had a lovely stay at The Cottage with our children - 1 and 4. We loved the big garden and had a lovely fire to keep warm on a rainy day. The cottage was spotlessly clean and had everything we could have needed - the games and train track were a hit! The information pack had some really useful info about local parks and food. We visited WWL WetlaRead morends and Cattle Country Farm Park which were both no more than 10mins away and fab days out. Thank you for the wine and chocs on arrival too! :) Hide
