An excellent location in the Tortworth Estate, overlooking the village church. You will be well served by foot so you can enjoy the waymarked footpaths, or just simply relax with coffee and cake at the estate farm shop, where guests can take advantage of a discount for local produce. The South Cotswolds offers local attractions to include Berkeley Deer Park, Berkeley Castle, Slimbridge Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, Westonbirt National Arboretum, Prince Charles’s Highgrove House, Painswick Rococo Garden and the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal, as well as National Trust properties of Woodchester, Newark Park, Dyrham Park and Tyntesfield. Further afield you can visit the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley, Chepstow’s medieval castle and Bath.

Enjoy the views across to the church as you drive through the heart of the estate. The cottage is set within its own grounds overlooking the church. The open stone porch with original stone arch has a church pew for you to take a seat whilst you remove your muddy boots, and is also stacked with wood for the wood burner. Open the solid wooden door into the wide entrance hall, with original wooden panelling and high ceilings, you will find a cosy lounge to the left, where you can sink into the sofas and relax with friends in front of the wood burner, there is also a smart TV/DVD and a bluetooth speaker perfect for a good movie. Across the entrance hall is the dining room, with a solid wooden table and chairs, set for six along with original cupboards. Also, a great space for children to get away and enjoy a board game, or simply relax in the wooden window seats with a good book. The kitchen is set to the rear of the cottage and is well-equipped with electric oven and hob, Dualit capsule coffee machine, microwave and dishwasher, and a table and chairs for a relaxed breakfast and a wooden dresser stocked with everything you may need. There is also a fridge/freezer situated in the lobby just off the kitchen. There is a ground floor WC, with a utility area housing a washer/dryer and small fridge. So, when the day is done climb the stairs to the first floor, where you will find the three bedrooms. A king-size with feature fireplace, a super-king-size zip-and-link (which can be made up as a twin on request) with garden views and a twin bedroom (which can be made into a king size on request). All bedrooms are furnished with luxurious cotton bedlinen. Also, on this floor is a bathroom with bath and WC and a shower room with shower and WC.

The cottage enjoys an open aspect onto the estate, with a large enclosed garden which is perfect for children and dogs, the grounds are laid to lawn with plenty of sunny garden benches and a patio with table and chairs and charcoal BBQ to enjoy. There is ample off-road parking and secure storage for bicycles available.

Our second time staying here and we found it just as cosy and comfortable as before. Easy shopping at nearby Charfield and the farm shop. Good Sunday lunch at the Hunter's Inn at Falfield. We visited Wotton twice and found everyone very friendly and helpful. Useful free carpark, interesting little museum and other historical places. We've visited here many times now. I love all the Tortworth properties and how they are managed and looked after. I will never tire of the beautiful view from the porch here at Church Cottage. Very quirky but full of character cottage. Gorgeous location. Extremely comfortable. One very small point - kitchen a little compact for 5 adults trying to use it. Church Cottage is a lovely rural place to stay. It is well equipped and a beautiful location, with a Farm Shop and cafe walking distance. The host left milk and a Victoria sponge cake for us too.

Beautiful setting clean and comfortable. Dogs and kids enjoyed the large garden and surrounding area lots of wildlife and lovely walks watching the deers. The cottage is in the middle of Bath and Bristol and only 50 mins from Cardiff. We absolutely loved this cottage and definitely will be coming back in the future.

The best cottage we have ever stayed. A spacy, homy place, with stunning views on each side. You're completely on your own, and the garden is secured, if you have a dog. Lots of facilities, fire making in & outside, badminton in the garden, lovely walks just outside the cottage, and a wonderful farm shop around the corner to buy everything you needRead more. This is a lovely cottage in peaceful surroundings with a large private garden. The Farm shop up the road has great food ( closed Sunday) and the little town, also closed Sunday has a great pub The Star Inn Wotton under Edge for Sunday dinner

We just loved this warm, comfortable cottage in such a restful setting. It was great to have plenty of space to spread out -(apart from the kitchen). The housekeeper Lisa was very helpful before and during our stay. We really enjoyed the delicious cake and other little extras. I've been here four or five times now so they must be doing something right. Very quiet location. Farm shop is good for the odd item. Dog loves the large and secure back garden. We love the Tortworth Estate properties. I've lost count of the number of times we've stayed at them, and this was our second or third stay at Church Cottage. It's very, very quiet and the dog loves the large enclosed back garden which is very dog proof. Beautiful, well appointed holiday cottage. Clean with crisp linen. Nice quality appliances and toiletries. We had a lovely Christmas stay at Church Cottage. Christmas tree and mince pies were very much appreciated. Location is fantastic and farm shop/cafe is within walking distance offering a fantastic array of goods. Great sized secure back garden for dogs. Throughly enjoyed listening to the church bells. Look forward to visiting again!
