Within the peaceful village of Great Rissington, this stone cottage has been finished with a clever mix of original features and contemporary style, perfect for family and friends to get together.

Great Rissington is a traditional village situated just a short drive from Bourton-on-the-Water, otherwise known as the Venice of the Cotswolds, and Burford often referred to the gateway to the Cotswolds. Surrounded by breath-taking countryside, creating a great starting point for enthusiastic walkers with well way marked paths that will guide you through the meadows to the River Windrush where you can paddle before you stroll further onto the smaller villages. Its central location offers easy access to a host of attractions including The Cotswold Farm Park, Daylesford Organic Farm shop, Birdland, Cotswold Wildlife Park, Westonbirt, Highgrove House and Gardens, Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Steam Railway and National Trust properties and gardens.

Take in the views across the rich Cotswold countryside before you step inside. The entrance hall offers space for coats and boots to be tucked away, along with access to the separate WC with utility area with washing machine and tumble dryer. Further into the cottage you will find the lounge, the perfect place to spend an evening, sink back into the sofa and catch up in front of the wood burner whilst watching something on the TV. The exposed stone walls and stone mullion windows blend beautifully with the soft interiors that finish the room. Further on, the kitchen/diner is the original hub of this cottage. The contemporary kitchen is well-equipped and finished with granite work tops and wooden cabinets, with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher that complete the space. The dining area is perfect for entertaining with a large formal table set in front of picture windows letting the countryside in, along with a wood burner that's waiting to be lit. So, when the sun goes down, climb the stairs to the first floor where you will find the three bedrooms, a king-size with en-suite shower room and WC, a double and a twin. There is a bathroom with shower over bath and WC that completes the accommodation.

Step outside to the rear gardens, a typical cottage garden with furniture for al fresco dining in the summer. There is a shed for bicycle storage and off-road parking for three cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

A lovely comfortable home in a great location. Everything we needed for a multigenerational family holiday. The views from the bedrooms and the sunsets made it a true holiday. The village has a real and friendly feel as does the pub. I would definitely book again.

We had a lovely week at West View cottage . The location is stunning and the views from the cottage are beautiful. We had dinner at The Lamb pub which is a very short walk from the cottage, a couple of times during our stay and the food and service was excellent, make sure you book in advance. We would highly recommend staying here.

Had a lovely stay in this charming cottage in beautiful quiet location. Well equipped and comfortable although the photos are a little flattering (but aren't they all) and a little TLC here and there would make all the difference. Great for walks and pub dinners at the Lamb Inn (which were very good) and nice BBQ's in the lovely sunny back garden.

Spent a wonderful week here, beautiful house in a very peaceful & beautiful village. Huge enclosed garden for the dog to explore. Nothing but a pub in walking distance (which serves amazing meals) so you have no choice but to chill! Loved it, will be back.

The location is fabulous. The village is lovely and there are great walks from the doorstep. There is good outdoor space for sitting, playing and barbecuing. The downstairs is roomy and relaxing, if a little dark like most cottages. the dining table is large and spacious for 6 people. The bedrooms are great and so are the bathrooms.

We loved this cottage. Lovely interior and great location. The only thing we could have done with were some bigger pots for cooking as there were no big pans/dishes for a family of 6. We would definitely book again though.

The Cotswolds is home to some of the most unspoilt, historic and famous villages in England. Its honey-coloured stone buildings provide a quintessential English charm found no-where else in the world and offer a plethora of welcoming pubs, tiny tearooms and quaint streets to explore.

Once described by William Morris as ‘the most beautiful village in England’, the chocolate box village of Bibury is one of England’s most iconic hamlets, home to the peaceful River Coln and some of the most photographed houses in the country. The famous Arlington Row is a sight to behold - this row of 14th century weaver’s cottages have been the foundation of Bibury for hundreds of years and is instantly recognisable as a symbol of the Cotswold District.

If you’re seeking a relaxing day of sightseeing, shopping and traditional tearooms, head to the charming town of Cirencester, once the second largest town in Roman Britain. Proclaiming the title "The Capital of the Cotswolds", its market square is dominated by the cathedral-like Parish Church of St. John Baptist (one of the largest in England) and can be easily reached from our self-catering accommodation in Bibury, Burford, Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold.

The rolling Cotswolds countryside is never too far away from your cosy holiday cottage, so you can enjoy a variety of outdoor leisure pursuits including those at The Cotswold Waterpark. This popular tourist destination in Gloucestershire is home to 150 glorious lakes where angling, archery, wakeboarding, windsurfing, birdwatching and even rally driving can be experienced. On a balmy summers day, the Cotswold Country Park and Beach is the place to go, boasting the largest inland beach in the UK.

When it comes to attractions in the Cotswolds, visitors will be spoilt for choice. Grab a stylish bargain at Bicester shopping village, talk a walk on the wild side at Longleat Safari Park, experience a day at the races in Cheltenham, admire colourful blooms at Westonbirt Arboretum, keep the kids entertained at the Cotswolds Farm Park, take a tour around Gloucester Cathedral, and enjoy an indulgent afternoon tea at Blenheim Palace. That’s just for starters, there’s plenty more things to see and do in the Cotswolds and you will love them all!
