Walkers and cyclists are spoilt for choice with footpaths and cycle ways from the doorstep leading along open fields to picturesque Cotswold villages and historic coaching inns. With Oxford, Burford and Abington, just 12 miles away, you can enjoy the best of both worlds.

 

Retreat in the spacious country style lounge/ dining room and snuggle up on the sofa with a glass of wine and a good book or a movie. If you decide to stay in for the evening, you will find a farmhouse table and chairs in the dining area, leading to a well-equipped kitchen with microwave, electric oven with hob, fridge, freezer and washing machine. From the lounge leads to a spacious king size bedroom,and a bathroom with a shower over the bath, hand basin and WC. This property is ideal for a couple, or there is a sofa bed to accommodate another two people for an extra charge.

 

Heading through the French doors from the lounge, you will find a decking area and BBQ with garden furniture in which to enjoy the lovely views on a warm summers evening. There is plenty of off-road parking available.

The cottage is comfortable and met all our needs. It is in a peaceful location (aeroplanes from RAF Brize Norton aside) but well situated for Witney, Burford and Abingdon.

The Cotswolds is home to some of the most unspoilt, historic and famous villages in England. Its honey-coloured stone buildings provide a quintessential English charm found no-where else in the world and offer a plethora of welcoming pubs, tiny tearooms and quaint streets to explore.

Once described by William Morris as ‘the most beautiful village in England’, the chocolate box village of Bibury is one of England’s most iconic hamlets, home to the peaceful River Coln and some of the most photographed houses in the country. The famous Arlington Row is a sight to behold - this row of 14th century weaver’s cottages have been the foundation of Bibury for hundreds of years and is instantly recognisable as a symbol of the Cotswold District.

If you’re seeking a relaxing day of sightseeing, shopping and traditional tearooms, head to the charming town of Cirencester, once the second largest town in Roman Britain. This popular tourist destination in Gloucestershire is home to 150 glorious lakes where angling, archery, wakeboarding, windsurfing, birdwatching and even rally driving can be experienced. On a balmy summers day, the Cotswold Country Park and Beach is the place to go, boasting the largest inland beach in the UK.
