  • An ideal base for exploring the pretty Cotswolds villages and stunning countryside

This single-storey holiday bungalow offers spacious accommodation close to the centre of town. The town square where you will find many tea rooms, shops, pubs and restaurants is a short walk away. Stow-on-the-Wold is one of the antique centres of the Cotswolds with Burford, Chipping Norton and Cirencester all well worth a visit too. The market square in Stow is large and impressive with the ancient buildings giving an insight of the town's historic past. There is a great choice on your doorstep including picturesque Bourton-on-the-Water just four miles down the hill, the Slaughters, Upper and Lower Swell, and often forgotten picture-perfect villages such as Kineton and Naunton.

On arrival at the bungalow you will see that it retains much of its period charm. There is a small entrance hall to hang coats and bags, and to kick off any muddied boots after exploring the local tracks. The lounge is very airy and contains ample comfy seating to enjoy the TV, and there is also a folding leaf-style dining table by the window with seating for four, ideal for home-cooked meals on your break away. The kitchen is fully-equipped with an electric hob and oven, a dishwasher, a microwave and a fridge with ice box. Nearby are the spacious bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other with twin beds. The bathroom with shower-over-bath and WC is close by for convenience too.

Outside, there is a pleasant courtyard garden with furniture for enjoying a morning coffee in the sunshine.

The owner contacted us before arrival with some helpful comments on the cottage and the area. The garden was a nice relaxing enclosed space enabling the dog to safely roam around. Everyone we encountered in the neighbourhood appeared very friendly. Wonderful place to stay.

The cottage in Stow is in such a good location and is peaceful. The owner kindly checks to see if everything is going well. Parking by cottage and enclosed back garden with chairs/table a plus.

Great location, very handy as just a few minutes walk into Stow centre. Lovely dog walks on the door step and nice and quiet. Very homely and everything you need including plenty of plates and glasses so you're not washing up every few minutes.

Clean and tidy 2 bed detached 1960s bungalow on a small close, a very short walk of the town centre and ideal for enjoying Stow in the evenings without the need for using the car. Helpful owner contactable by text or phone if needed. Facilities are ideal for a weeks stay with nice bedrooms and kitchen, a private back yard and a narrow side parking Read morespace . The original basic gas fire did not add character to the functional lounge but this did not detract from our enjoyable stay. . Hide
