Lovely cottage, very comfortable and modern inside, in a quiet area and so pretty to look at in a very old fashioned way. Gardens lovely, especially the balcony over the stream. Beautifully central to where we wanted to visit and served by a good bus service so we did not always need to get the car out.

We had a Wonderfull week at Porthole Cottage, it's beautifully appointed with all "mod cons" you could need. Location is great being really central to shops and restaurants and pub, with an ample sized off street parking space. Positioned aside a river I can imagine sitting outside would be the order of the warmer days. Porthole is a lovely cottage, well equipped to provide a home from home but we did find the close proximity to some of the neighbours somewhat disconcerting on occasions. Regrettably, for this reason, I would hesitate to recommend this property.

The Cotswolds is home to some of the most unspoilt, historic and famous villages in England. Its honey-coloured stone buildings provide a quintessential English charm found no-where else in the world and offer a plethora of welcoming pubs, tiny tearooms and quaint streets to explore.

Once described by William Morris as ‘the most beautiful village in England’, the chocolate box village of Bibury is one of England’s most iconic hamlets, home to the peaceful River Coln and some of the most photographed houses in the country. The famous Arlington Row is a sight to behold - this row of 14th century weaver’s cottages have been the foundation of Bibury for hundreds of years and is instantly recognisable as a symbol of the Cotswold District.

If you’re seeking a relaxing day of sightseeing, shopping and traditional tearooms, head to the charming town of Cirencester, once the second largest town in Roman Britain. The rolling Cotswolds countryside is never too far away from your cosy holiday cottage, so you can enjoy a variety of outdoor leisure pursuits including those at The Cotswold Waterpark. This popular tourist destination in Gloucestershire is home to 150 glorious lakes where angling, archery, wakeboarding, windsurfing, birdwatching and even rally driving can be experienced. On a balmy summers day, the Cotswold Country Park and Beach is the place to go, boasting the largest inland beach in the UK.
