Close to Gloucester and ideal for exploring the Cotswolds, this is a delightful and romantic single-storey converted dairy barn for two set in the grounds of a traditional farm.

With the Gloucestershire Way almost on the doorstep, this is an enviable location for walkers and cyclists alike, keen to explore the glories of the Cotswolds. You will be well-placed for exploring The Forest of Dean and you can experience a wide array of outdoor activities such as cycling, walking, horse riding, fishing, canoeing and kayaking on the River Wye. Or you could explore the River Severn, and experience the famous Severn Bore. The historic cathedral city of Gloucester is close by, and there are many wonderful National Trust properties including Chedworth Roman Villa, Hidcote Gardens, Westbury Court Gardens and Haresfield Beacon. Or you could even stay closer to home and meet the alpacas on the farm.

Entering this characterful property via the stunning courtyard, you will find yourself in the bright and welcoming lounge. Attractively furnished and with wood burner, TV / DVD, this is a lovely space to relax in. Exploring further, you will find a lovely traditional kitchen, with an ideal dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped withan electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, washing machine Bluetooth speaker and DAB radio. You will also find a comfy but spacious double bedroom. There is also a shower room complete with shower and WC.

Stepping outside, there is a delightful enclosed courtyard garden, which is equipped with garden furniture and BBQ and is just perfect for relaxing and unwinding in. There are also opportunities for farm activities. You could meet the alpacas, and alpaca walks are possible by arrangement during weekends and some evenings. Lambing takes place in February/March. Fruit picking is seasonal. There is off-road parking available for two cars.

Lovely clean & comfortable cottage outside area was lovely for our dog and sitting as weather was brilliant. Paul & Cathy very welcoming and give lots of info about the surrounding areas. We all enjoyed a very relaxing week.

I cannot recommend The Diary enough, I booked it for my parents for a week and they have just returned beaming with smiles after a wonderful break away. They said it was like home from home but only better, the owners were very helpful and friendly too. They really have had the best week, thank you so much.

A little jem of a place, so quite and relaxing, and yes, the beautiful courtyard garden is all yours to enjoy and fully secure for your dog . So much to see and do locally, we will definitely be booking again to revisit this perfect little hideaway.

The cottage was beautiful, well equipped and really comfortable, and we were really glad of the wood burner in the cold weather we had. An excellent 4 day stay in March 22 with brilliant weather. Accommodation excellent with parking, Cathy and Paul provided some really nice places to visit, really liked the wild daffodil walks, and the Green Dragon pub. They were very welcoming. We enjoyed meeting the alpacas.

This lovely cottage is on a working farm. My granddaughter loved the ducks, hens, sheep and Alpacas. I was there to help my daughter who had a baby in Gloucester during my stay. Paul and Cathy were so helpful, and even walked my dog when I was with my daughter on the day of the birth of her baby. The owners Paul and Cathy were fantastic, so warm and welcoming and made us feel very much at home. The Damson homemade jam was wonderful too. The cottage was perfect for our needs and just what we were looking for to relax and be restored.

We had a fabulous time in this really pretty converted dairy. It was an ideal base for visiting nearby beauty spots like Forest of Dean and May Hill. The cottage was perfect for two, warm and cosy. The Dairy is a great place to stay. Exactly what you expect from a very well converted farm building and more besides. Set its own secure courtyard/garden with a large covered area for outdoor relaxing plus a wood burning stove makes it ideal for either a summer or winter break. Even though I was there on my own , it had everything for 2 people . Outside the kitchen window is a small apple orchard which goes nice with the cottage and garden setting.

From the moment we arrived we knew we'd made the right decision to stay at the dairy. The owners welcomed us on arrival and showed us round. The dairy was well equipped with so many extras such as washing up liquid, kitchen roll, hand wash and to top it all a vase of sunflowers, free range eggs, homemade jam and Presecco. We had the best week away in this gorgeous atmospheric cottage. Paul & Cathy were absolutely lovely! And on hand for anything if we needed. On arrival we were greeted by Paul and Cathy, who showed us around. Flowers, bubbles & fresh eggs from their hens left for us in the cottage, which was so thoughtful (Best eggs ever!) A really lovely cottage and enclosed garden, ideal for pet owners. It's sheltered, with beautiful pots, and nice and sunny. A veranda allows for outdoor dining and a couple of loungers mean you can relax in comfort. Very nice cottage in very good location for Cotswolds, Wye valley and Forest of Dean exploration. The enclosed wall garden is particularly good for those with a dog. We stayed at Murcott farm for three nights. Paul met us at the farm house on arrival and was very welcoming. The diary was clean and comfortable. Fresh eggs from the farms hens and a bottle of fizz had been left as a welcome gift. Both didnt last long and were amazing. We had a very relaxing stay and would recommend to anyone seeking the same.

A delightful and very private cottage with its own garden and covered patio area for summer dinning despite being attached to the main house. The log burner was excellent and heated the whole place once established.

Ideal for a relaxing week to unwind and chill with our dog. Took trips out to the Forest of Dean and the Cotswolds, and the Severn and Wye valleys. Super hosts, really welcoming and thoughtful. Footpaths around difficult if you have a large dog, as they have to be carried over stiles. We felt very secure under Covid-19 restrictions.

Excellent location for both the Cotswolds and the Forest of Dean etc. Masses of great walks for dog owners straight from the property and beyond. The cottage was lovely and cosy and the owners were on hand to offer advise if needed. A beautiful (dog safe) enclosed courtyard which was great for peace of mind.
