The vibrant market town of Moreton-in-Marsh, situated on the Fosse Way, and now served by the main line railway from London Paddington is the location of this lovely cottage. Why not explore the high street on foot and discover honey-coloured stone buildings housing tearooms, antique stores, art galleries, and eateries? For walkers, a wealth of waymarked paths will take you deeper into the breathtaking countryside. Or you could discover the neighbouring towns and villages of Stow-on-the-Wold (4.5 miles), Lower Slaughter (7 miles), Broadway (10 miles), and Burford (14.5 miles). Further afield are the historic towns of Stratford-upon-Avon (16.5 miles) – Shakespeare’s birthplace, and Cheltenham (23.5 miles), home of a literature and food festival. More local attractions include Chastleton House and Gardens, Hidcote Manor, Daylesford Organic, and Batsford Arboretum – all excellent days out.

Take in the beauty of this terrace of cottages before stepping into the porch where you can leave your walking boots behind. The lounge is lovingly decorated with a great mix of both old and new, with exposed beams and a stone fireplace, enhanced by rich soft furnishings and window shutters. After a full day of adventures, light the wood burner and sink into the sofa; there is a TV just perfect for a good old-fashioned movie night. Step on through into the handcrafted kitchen/diner – a stylish space enhanced by the light-coloured worktops which blend perfectly into the character of the room. This kitchen is well equipped with everything you might need to self-cater during your stay, and a dining table sits to the side where you can enjoy views of the garden through the French doors. When night falls, climb the stairs to the master suite, boasting a super-king-size bed that will give you a great night’s sleep. The room is adorned in rich colours, embellished with artwork and finished with stylish shutters. Step into the en-suite bathroom where you can enjoy a bath for two in the side-by-side freestanding slipper baths. There is also a shower room with WC on the ground floor.

Step outside and enjoy a glass of wine in the evening sun –  the south-facing courtyard garden sits to the rear of the cottage, complete with a table and chairs alongside colourful pots and outdoor lighting.

Lovely cottage, very relaxing stay. The two baths were superb. Bed was extremely comfortable. Very clean and ideally situated for the high street. Plenty of parking for two vehicles, if required.

Had a perfect week away in Moreton Cottage. Such a comfortable and spacious cottage situated only a couple of minutes walk from the high street. My stay felt truly magical from beginning to end. Loved the Cotwolds during the Summer felt just as special during the Winter. Thank you!

This cottage is exceptional! The decor is stunning and so is the location! Moreton in Marsh is a fantastic town with lots of welcoming places to eat and shop! It is also situated in a location from which all of the Cotswalds can be accessed easily! This cottage is the place to be!

Absolutely stunning cottage, we have had the most relaxing week away. So close to amenities but very quiet and peaceful at the same time. We would love to return one day.

Moreton Cottage is absolutely beautiful and we had a wonderful time there. We will definitely be back. The cottage interiors are beautifully designed and it is so romantic. The underfloor heating is fantastic and we loved the twin baths. It's very close to some lovely pubs and restaurants too including Henne and Moreton Wine Merchants and Wine Bar Read morewhich were both wonderful. We can't wait to come back! Hide

Beautifully and stylishly equipped, lovely and warm, esp underfoot! Everything spotlessly clean, nothing left from previous guests(hooray) Superbly presented and decorated for Christmas. Easy secure parking , quiet location but 2mins walking distance to town.

The cottage is gorgeous, comfortable and very well laid out. The bathroom is large with 2 tubs and has lovely decor. The bed is super king-size and extremely comfortable. The couch is also very comfortable and the log burner works great if the Ash tray is empty. The kitchen layout is easy to work with and the shower room is big and easy to use. It's a beautiful cottage that we feel very much at home. It is so different to others because of the two bath tubs. Very cosy and inviting.

We loved the cottage - very comfortable, we had everything we needed. It's only a short walk from the town and we found it the perfect base from which to explore the Cotswolds. Very much hope to return.

When we saw the portrait of the Empress Maria Alexandrovna we knew that elegant furnishings and coordinated design awaited us. The use of black as a signature colour is bold and imaginative. Downstairs has flagstone flooring and massive open hearth while the upstairs has a stunning bedroom and a sumptuous bathroom. We enjoyed the patio suntrap.
