We were surprised at the size, much roomier than any we have had in the past. Bright and airy, a lot of glass, wonderful. Sun beds on the patio were nice as we had 5 days of unbroken sunshine. Private parking for the car and altogether a private location for the cottage.

Just as we hoped it would be - modern but cosy, quite but local access to amenities. If we had our perfect holiday cottage - this would be it!

Our "cottage" which was a converted barn is based in lechlade, about thirty minutes walk away. Very quiet, relaxing and peaceful. Dogs are allowed, and although we didn't take ours with us, you wouldn't know dogs have been in the property as it is very clean. It is well based as there are lots of places to go around lechlade. Plenty of supermarketsRead more in nearby carterton to choose from. This was our second visit and will go again soon. Lovely hosts. Hide

The cottage was well equipped and clean, and in a very quiet location. Ideal for the places we wanted to visit and road network is good. The eggs and wine left on arrival was appreciated and tasty.

The Cotswolds is home to some of the most unspoilt, historic and famous villages in England. Its honey-coloured stone buildings provide a quintessential English charm found no-where else in the world and offer a plethora of welcoming pubs, tiny tearooms and quaint streets to explore.

Once described by William Morris as ‘the most beautiful village in England’, the chocolate box village of Bibury is one of England’s most iconic hamlets, home to the peaceful River Coln and some of the most photographed houses in the country. The famous Arlington Row is a sight to behold - this row of 14th century weaver’s cottages have been the foundation of Bibury for hundreds of years and is instantly recognisable as a symbol of the Cotswold District.

If you’re seeking a relaxing day of sightseeing, shopping and traditional tearooms, head to the charming town of Cirencester, once the second largest town in Roman Britain. Proclaiming the title "The Capital of the Cotswolds", its market square is dominated by the cathedral-like Parish Church of St. John Baptist (one of the largest in England) and can be easily reached from our self-catering accommodation in Bibury, Burford, Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold.

The rolling Cotswolds countryside is never too far away from your cosy holiday cottage, so you can enjoy a variety of outdoor leisure pursuits including those at The Cotswold Waterpark. This popular tourist destination in Gloucestershire is home to 150 glorious lakes where angling, archery, wakeboarding, windsurfing, birdwatching and even rally driving can be experienced. On a balmy summers day, the Cotswold Country Park and Beach is the place to go, boasting the largest inland beach in the UK.

When it comes to attractions in the Cotswolds, visitors will be spoilt for choice. Grab a stylish bargain at Bicester shopping village, talk a walk on the wild side at Longleat Safari Park, experience a day at the races in Cheltenham, admire colourful blooms at Westonbirt Arboretum, keep the kids entertained at the Cotswolds Farm Park, take a tour around Gloucester Cathedral, and enjoy an indulgent afternoon tea at Blenheim Palace. That’s just for starters, there’s plenty more things to see and do in the Cotswolds and you will love them all!
