It is a lovely cottage off the beaten track nice and peaceful. Although its not far from the local shops and pubs you will need your car to get there especially in autumn very dark at night for walking. The best welcome pack Ive had anywhere.

It's quirky and we loved it . There is everything and more that you could possibly need in the place. It was blistering hot whilst we were there, but the huge fans soon cooled it down. The gardens are a little over grown, but the mansion house is beautiful, it's a listed building.

The house was great; beds really comfortable, kitchen well equipped. Lots of good small details and a very generous welcome pack that was greatly appreciated. The grounds were beautiful (if a little soggy at the moment), and you can walk to Lacock and Chippenham directly from the cottage. The location is perfect for visiting further afield, e.g. BaRead moreth, Longleat, Stonehenge. We had a wonderful break - thanks! Hide

We had the most wonderful stay at Deer Cottage. You get the best of both words as you are right in the countryside (there were actual deer outside eating apples from the orchard!) but you are really close to Chippenham, the supermarkets and villages like Lacock and Castle Combe. We enjoyed walking around the grounds. Barbara the host gave us a warmRead more welcome and was super helpful. The welcome items were so generous.
