The world-renowned university dates back as far as 1188 and has produced some of the world’s greatest minds. The city’s major attractions include so many eye catching architectural wonders such as The Bodleian Library, Pitt Rivers Museum and The Ashmolean. A camera is essential, needless to say. There are shops galore in the centre of Oxford too, if you like reading the choice of bookshops is bottomless. Why not embark on a trip in a punt from Folly Bridge to pretty Iffley Lock; take a trip on a tourist bus, or have a picnic in Christchurch Meadows? There is a large selection of historical places to check out on your stay near Oxford.
